Your gift will not only help neglected and abused dogs and cats of Asia, but it will also help all the animals who depend on Soi Dog for their survival.
When Ozzy was found in the jungle, he had all but given up on life. Please help give desperate dogs like him a second chance.
The current COVID-19 crisis is hitting Soi Dog hard. With such few adopted animals currently able to leave Thailand for their overseas forever homes as a result of travel restrictions, we have more dogs than ever in our care. Yet every day, new sick and injured animals like Ozzy arrive at the Soi Dog shelter in dire need.
We desperately need more resources including space, food, medicines and carers to be able to take in new animals like Ozzy, who urgently need our help. Otherwise, the unthinkable will happen to dogs like Ozzy.
Will you please make an urgent donation to save vulnerable street animals like Ozzy? His story is heartbreaking.
Soi Dog is a lifeline for thousands of street animals. Any donation during these uncertain times makes a difference. If you can, please help homeless animals like Ozzy today, so that more suffering animals can be given a second chance.
He was so weak and in so much pain that he didn’t even look up when he was discovered in the jungle. He didn’t flinch. Ozzy had given up hope. This poor 10-year-old boy probably went into the jungle to die.
After Ozzy was rescued and brought to the Soi Dog shelter, the vets discovered he was suffering from a shockingly long list of medical issues.
We could see he was in an enormous amount of pain. Ozzy had severe issues with his spine and hips which needed urgent treatment. His paw pads were so inflamed that he must have been in agony with ever step he took. He also had a severe tick infestation and conjunctivitis. Ozzy was truly in desperate need of help.
Then the vets discovered something even more dreadful. X-rays showed this gorgeous boy had not one but two bullets in different parts of his ageing body. One is lodged on the right side of his chest and the other in his right back leg. It is a miracle he survived to tell the tale. We suspect the bullets have been there many years. Therefore, removing them now would undoubtedly do more harm than good.
What a sad life Ozzy has led. But with you by our side, we are determined to give him the love and care he has clearly been deprived of his entire life.
After only three weeks of intensive medical care, daily physiotherapy and regular laser treatment on his hips and spine – he made a phenomenal recovery. Today, he is not only alive, but he is no longer in agony every time he tries to stand or walk. Although he is a bit wobbly on his legs due to nerve damage (likely as a result of bullet damage), Ozzy is finally happy and healthy.
If we didn’t have room for Ozzy at the shelter, there is no doubt that he would be dead now. But because of kind animal lovers like you, he gets a second chance at life. And that is such a magnificent thing.
Please help us today, so we can continue to take in desperate animals like Ozzy. They need you now more than ever.
Thank you
